“The lessons are very well planned, with specific and progressive topics every week. It's all online which makes it very convenient and the lesson materials are extremely helpful as well.”

“The best school for any tertiary students / working adults to learn Japanese for sure!!! I was attracted by the affordable rates and flexibility — lessons after school or office hours. I'm honoured to be taught by Ko-sensei and Ng-sensei, both extremely professional. Classes are systematic, fun and engaging, with lots of extra materials. I'm slowly progressing from “wakarimasen?” to holding basic conversations in Japan!”
Ellie
“Ko Sensei puts in a tremendous amount of effort for his students. Rather than relying on a single textbook, he creates his own notes, assignments and online resources — self-tailored Quizlet lists, his own slides, and more that he generously shares. He's always willing to help even after lessons end. It shows he genuinely cares about his students becoming fluent quickly.”

FAQs
Questions, answered.
The short version of how Wavelength works.
How do lessons happen?
Every lesson is a private 1-on-1 video call in your browser — video, chat and screen sharing built in, nothing to download. The classroom opens 15 minutes before your start time.
How much does a lesson cost?
Start with a short, cheap trial to see if a tutor fits. When you're happy, start a plan — a pack of 5 lessons at your tutor's listed rate that renews every 5 weeks, or sooner once you've used them, cancel anytime. Each pack's lessons stay valid for 10 weeks, and all course materials are included.
Can I reschedule a lesson?
Yes — free up to 24 hours before it starts: pick any other open time with your tutor and the lesson simply moves. Inside 24 hours the lesson is committed, which keeps tutors' calendars dependable.
Who are the tutors?
Native Japanese speakers or JLPT N1-certified teachers. Every application is reviewed by hand before a tutor can accept students.
What about the course books?
When you start your first plan we ship a set of physical course books to your address, free — one set per student, so give us a shipping address at checkout. Lessons start online right away, without waiting for the delivery.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Wavelength runs entirely in the browser on any laptop, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone.
